In this rapidly changing and chaotic world, adaptation has become a struggle to many. We are constantly bombarded with so much distracting outside “noise” as well as our internal din, that it is a struggle to slow our minds and just BE.

Those who adapt thrive, those that do not struggle to survive. When we are in survival mode stress levels increase greatly leading to adrenal fatigue, overwhelm and burnout.

The key to an adaptive “thrival” state of being is the integration and equilibration of mind, body and spirit.

Here is a unique offering that will enable you to experience state of deep meditation through a ground-breaking body mind equilibration technique. Created by Vincent Meurice, the Bathysmed® Protocol uses the underwater experience of scuba diving to bring your mind and body into a state of oneness.

Dr Calina Ouliaris and Simon Lugan will be assisting you through this amazing underwater mind body experience, whilst Laura will facilitate the integrative mindset sessions.

This is an experiential activity that integrates our sensual self with our mental and spiritual self, creating a powerful state of presence. And once experienced, the pathway stays with you for life.

What is the Bathysmed® Protocol?

The Bathysmed® protocol is an evidence-based methodology that engages the mind-body in the weightless underwater environment to melt away the noise of worldly stressors and reconnect with the self.

Created by Vincent Meurice, it combines principles of sophrology with the natural wonders of scuba-diving to facilitate a state of deep meditation through bodymind equilibration.

The Scuba Diving Experience…

  • 10 dives total over 6 days (instruction led by Dr Calina Oularis)
  • The first dive will be in a pool, and the second will be an introductory dive
  • All equipment provided including wetsuit, snorkel, mask, flippers
  • Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) and air tanks and other scuba equipment.
  • Boat operated by local experienced divers
  • Learn the Bathysmed® protocol and have time to explore the various dive sites on each dive. You will be fully supervised on each dive.
  • There will be a “dry day” midweek to give you a rest and to explore other activities.

You are about to participate in a diving for wellness retreat. If you have never dived before, perfect! The program caters for people with zero experience. Each dive evolves “with you” and the first dives are very shallow to give you time to find your bearings and become accustomed to new sensations.

The waters of the Sunshine Coast are perfect for this. Breathing through a regulator is much easier than breathing through a snorkel. Going underwater with a scuba tank is easier than hiking or jogging.

Diving allows you to move with ease in a weightless environment and tune into your breathe, harmonising body and mind.  You may feel anxious initially and may take you 2-3 dives to feel completely at ease. This initial fear is completely normal, and even beneficial in achieving the objectives of this program.

Wonderful Walks
Enjoy wonderful hikes and beach walks. Choose from an array of wonderful experiences – hike Mount Ninderry and Mount Coolum, taking in the magnificent views from both peaks. Take a cold plunge in the rockpools at the base of Mount Ninderry. Breath in the ocean air at Coolum Beach and at Noosa National Park.

Stretch & Tone
Feel alive with guided Yin Yoga and Pilates, and get deeper benefits from a remedial massage.

Revive and Immune Boost
Rejuvenate with relaxation massage and reiki. Detox with an ionic foot spa. Take the plunge in the hot tub and brace yourself for an ice bath. Have a magnesium bath. Get some rays on the sun deck and boost your vitamin D.

At Edenderry Retreat you are nourished with wholesome and delicious home cooked meals made from with quality ingredients, grass-fed meats and local fresh produce. Help yourself to beverages such as herbal teas, tea, coffee, filtered rain water, kombucha, cold press juices and healthy snacks.

Rest & Relax
The beds and pillows are super comfortable to help you with an awesome night’s sleep. Whilst the days are jammed packed, you will also have your own quite time. There are multiple living areas for you to relax and unwind – enjoy the company of others and/or enjoy your own space.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness cultivates self-awareness, reduces stress, enhances focus, fosters compassion, promotes resilience, and fosters overall well-being and mental clarity.

Sound Healing
Bathe yourself in a deep emersion of sound from the crystal singing bowls. Allow the frequency and vibration to penetrate your cells and heal and rejuvenate your body.

Experience a daily guided meditation as well as meditation that is integrated with all other activities. There is a strong emphasis on being present in all sessions and activities – being present is a meditation in itself.

 

All activities incorporate Mind, Body & Spirit – these are never truly separated – the week is designed to integrate these elements.

Things you need to know…

Throughout the retreat you will be encouraged to engage in physical activities that move your body, engage your breathing and challenge your senses – helping you connect mind, body and spirit in order to live more consciously. We are not a fitness boot camp however, and we will be guided by your physical abilities and adjust accordingly. All physical activities are optional and voluntary and meant to enhance your experience.

We are not a “diet” or “fasting” retreat, however we encourage “clean” eating with whole nutritious foods – whilst you are free to bring along your favourite snacks and food, we would strongly encourage you to leave behind sugary, starchy and chemically laden snacks. Whilst our food philosophy is based around meat proteins, low GI carbohydrates and mostly grain-free eating, we happily cater to most dietary requirements including vegetarians and vegans. Our charter is to support and honour your food philosophy and individual choices. Please contact us if you have very specific dietary requirements.

Everything that you will need is provided:

  • quality food, beverages such as herbal teas, tea, coffee, filtered rain water, kombucha and cold press juices, healthy snacks

We run small group retreats and workshops so the focus is on providing you with the best experience possible. Maximum capacity is six people (three cuddle couples) or three singles. For couples it is expected that both persons fully participate in the retreat – if your partner wants to come along but not participate, then we asked that he/she do not attend.

This is a live in-person workshop presented at Edenderry Retreat, at Maroochy River on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. It is limited to 6 people.
